January 25, 2010 -- The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has acquired guard Devin Brown from the New Orleans Hornets for center Aaron Gray.

“We’re excited to add Devin Brown to our team,” said Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman. “His toughness, defensive versatility, and shooting will be excellent additions to our perimeter rotation.”

Brown (6-5, 210) has appeared in 39 games (37 starts) for the Hornets this year, and averaged 9.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 1.5 apg in 24.8 mpg. On the season, he has shot .394 from the field, .367 from behind the arc and .802 from the line.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."

So what was the offer from the Nuggets?

Denver Post

No deal.

The Nuggets tried to deal for seldom-used Chicago center Aaron Gray, but the deal fell through. Gray is averaging 2.3 points per game and makes around $1 million, but with Karl's tight eight-man rotation, he likely would have ended up next to Malik Allen and Johan Petro on the bench.
