January 27, 2011 – The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has assigned forward James Johnson to the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League (D-League).

“Assigning James to the D-League gives him an opportunity to play an extended amount of minutes and will be good for his overall growth,” said Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman.

Johnson (6-9, 245) has appeared in 12 games this season and averaged 3.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.2 apg in 10.2 mpg and has shot .425 from the field. Last season, during his rookie campaign, Johnson played in 65 games (11 starts) and posted averages of 3.9 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 11.6 mpg and shot .452 from the floor and .729 from the free throw line.

This will be good for him, imo.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."
