Bulls release James; big man coming?

The Chicago Bulls released reserve point guard Mike James early Saturday, dropping their roster to 13 players again.

This could pave the way for the Bulls to add a reserve big man, which general manager Gar Forman has alluded to as far back as training camp. Leon Powe and Joel Przybilla are two players with whom the Bulls have had conversations to bolster a frontcourt which currently has Luol Deng out.

Isn't Pryzbilla a pure Center?

I would go with Powe. But we will know more soon...

Eric Dampier would be a good option.

And Dampier could bring some insider information from Miami. ;-)

I would stay with Powe if I would be the one to make the decision. Do you think that the Bulls soon will sign another player?

Yeah, I hope we enter the D-League pool and pick up a young big man. Either that, or grab Gadzuric or Dampier, maybe Powe..

By KC Johnson (Chicago Tribune)

The contracts of Brian Scalabrine and John Lucas III will become fully guaranteed for the remainder of the season Friday. Either player would have had to be released by close of business Tuesday to clear waivers before the deadline. … The Bulls remain in a holding pattern for veteran center Joel Przybilla, who is choosing between the Bulls, Heat and not playing.

So Przybilla isn't from the table for the Bulls.

ESPN.com

Free-agent center Joel Przybilla will sign with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to a report in the Oregonian.

So now he is off.
