MILWAUKEE - Tyrus Thomas shook off an illness that left him without a voice to contribute seven points and two rebounds Wednesday night after his 14 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks on Tuesday.
That's back-to-back positive games for Thomas, which gives voice to a well-worn refrain from Bulls fans: Why can't Thomas contribute more often?
"His activity, rebounding and energy were really good, but he has to do that consistently," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "I have to find ways to help him. When he plays like he did, you can see how he impacts games."
Not surprisingly, Del Negro defended Thomas' 18-foot jumper with 108 seconds left in Tuesday's overtime loss to Philadelphia, a shot that brought audible groans from home fans.
If he only can do this consistently, this would be much help for the Bulls. Perhaps these two games are the start of some consistence. I hope for it.
