Current Players vs. Draft Selections

Current Players vs. Draft Selections

Postby GMJames on Mon Mar 17, 2008 10:18 pm

It's been a thought I've had for sometime now. Are some of our current players not even better then draft selections. Looking at some mock drafts I have seen alot of players that could replace our current players. So my questions is, Should Paxson load up on draft selections this summer by trading away some of his beloved core. Example: Joey Dorsey or Tyrus Thomas. What are some of your comparasions? It seems we could save alot of money and time by trading away for more picks on draft night.

Who is Joey Dorsey? ;o)

I'm not sure that trading players from the core (core = Kirk, Deng, Gordon, ??) for higher draft selections will be a good thing.

As it looks like now that the Bulls will be at the lottery again. sigh...
At the moment with pick 10.

I would like it more to trade some players to get a real good player. Which will be unlikely I think.

I can't give some comparisons, because I don't know enough about the college basketball.

I noticed your location as Germany. Joey Dorsey is a PF for the university of memphis. He is widely regarded as the next Ben Wallace and he even patterns his game after Wallace. I am surprised you don't know who he is.

As I have said I nealy know zero from college basketball. So all information I'm getting are news from websites when they start to subject the upcoming draft. ;o)

Now I knowing something from Dorsey. From DraftExpress Profile. On ESPN I can't find him.

Dorsey sounds interesting. But I see no clear way to get him through the draft. But perhaps Pax can get us a surprise?

Actually, The point of this thread was to show that it would be much cheaper to trade some of our guys to get new drafted players. The bulls are wasting alot of money on nothing. And I feel there are players in the draft that are as good but for a much lower rookie salary.

Dorsey does indeed model his game after Wallace. He wouldn't be a bad addition to this current roster, he was all over the place yesterday.

If a guy like Tyrus can get us front-court talent, you have to do it.
