Rosenblog (by Steve Rosenbloom)Yes. Barely, if you’re talking the entire history of the NBA. But no, choking a 35-point lead had never happened in Bulls history, not as an expansion team going up against Wilt or Russell, not with Tim Floyd coaching Dragan Tarlac and Dalibor Bagaric, not until Del Negro’s Bulls gagged against Sacramento at home on Monday night.
And yet, Del Negro is still coaching the Bulls. Chairman Reinsdorf and his high tolerance for embarrassment continues. Wise up, people: The Bulls are playing you for suckers. Chairman Reinsdorf’s franchise brought in a completely inexperienced coach, has endured one humiliating episode after another, and have done nothing. If management doesn’t care about hiring a real coach, why should the players care about playing for the guy?
I mean, just look at what has happened recently while Chairman Reinsdorf has been counting your money: LeBron James danced tauntingly during a timeout, Jarrett Jack tied his shoe while holding the ball without Del Negro or his players even noticing, the 1-19 Nets beat Del Negro’s team at home, and now the Kings monumentally humiliate Del Negro’s Bulls. At home. Again.
And Del Negro keeps his job. And Chairman Reinsdorf keeps your money. Suckers.
