Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro isn't thrilled with the play of his team so far this season.

Chicago edged passed Milwaukee 83-81 on Tuesday night.

Bulls forward Tyrus Thomas, who didn't receive a contract extension from the team prior to Monday's deadline, was sent home on Tuesday with the flu.

There were rumors that Thomas was moping about his poor start to the season and the lack of a long-term contract, but he was legitimately sick. Del Negro refused to single him out while talking with the media.

"I'm unhappy with the play of our team," he told the Chicago Sun-Times. "I'm not gonna talk about guys individually like that, but everyone needs to pick it up a little bit."

When asked if Thomas, who didn't play in the fourth quarter of a game against Miami this past weekend, was unhappy with his playing time Del Negro didn't budge.

"I haven't seen Tyrus. He's sick; I haven't seen him all day. Next time I see him, if something's on his mind, he knows where to find me and we'll talk."

Del Negro certainly has legitimate concerns, but I'd think he'd keep it within the team rather than air it out in public.

IMHO, Chicago's front office was banking on internal improvement from Rose, Thomas, Noah, and the rookies. They let Gordon go and didn't sign a major free agent or make a trade because they're saving themselves for the 2010 free agent feeding frenzy when the salary cap will likely be lowered.

Major mistake IMHO.

Right so.

IMO it is save to say that Rose will take over more if he is 100% healthy again. Noah's play is improved as far we can see after 4 games. And Thomas? Don't know what do think about him.
Important is that Deng is healthy now. He really helping the team. Especially when he is playing like against the Bucks. Tougher game for Deng tonight against Cavs.

Way to early to say that this was a mistake. Let us talk again next summer.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."
