By KC Johnson (Chicago Tribune)Bulls forward Taj Gibson visited a foot specialist Monday afternoon after missing his second straight practice with soreness in his right foot.
Following Sunday's missed practice, Gibson said he suffered a pinched nerve while performing slide drills to warm up. On Monday, Gibson called the affected area "a stretched ligament."
Reached late Monday, Gibson said it was a strong possibility he'd miss Tuesday night's game against the Lakers but that he's optimistic the injury won't be a long-term issue.
"They thought it could be serious, but it's not," Gibson said. "The doctor just said it's a matter of me getting through the pain. I should be OK soon."
Earlier in the day, coach Tom Thibodeau barely acknowledged the injury, saying Gibson would be a game-time decision.
