By Mike McGraw (Daily Herald)According to multiple sources, veteran guard Mike Bibby agreed to forfeit his entire $6.2 million salary for next season in exchange for being released by the Wizards.
The move frees Bibby to search for a new team and Miami appears to be his likely destination. He's not much of a point guard these days, but the Heat has openings for a point guard and reliable 3-point shooter.
The Bulls considered making a run at Bibby and they still might. They could offer slightly more money than Miami, but probably not the same opportunity.
If Bibby joins the Heat, it would be one more player with no chance of guarding Derrick Rose. But Bibby also figures to be a more reliable clutch shooter in the playoffs than current options Eddie House or James Jones. So it would be a mixed bag from the Bulls' perspective.
