Nocioni may be out until after All-Star break
By K.C. Johnson

February 6, 2007

SALT LAKE CITY -- Andres Nocioni is a master at trying to ignore injuries, but the protective boot he wore Monday was impossible to miss.

Nocioni finally succumbed to plantar fasciitis in his right foot that he had quietly been battling for two weeks, and his absence from Monday's loss to Utah will be his first of several games missed.

An MRI performed Monday afternoon revealed inflammation rather than a noticeable tear of the fibrous band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the base of the toes. But both Nocioni and coach Scott Skiles said the valuable forward would need seven to 10 days of complete rest.

The Bulls have three games remaining on this seven-game trip, then play two more games—at home against Toronto and at Charlotte—before the All-Star break. It's likely Nocioni will miss all five games.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."

Not at all. It'll give some of our younger guys a chance to prove themselves. If you don't want to look at it from that perspective, heres another one. Noc is projected to be out a week to a little over a week. With all-star weekend coming up, thats going to be a period where he can rest and the Bulls will not play a game. This injury is really not that bad especially considering what some of the other teams have had happen to them.

Yes, longtime it isn't a big loss. Nocioni will have much time to rest now. I hope that we will see more of Thomas and even Khryapa. And that they will seize that opportunity with both hands and show that they can play.
If they didn't play good I think it is a shorttime big loss.
