How it happened: The Bulls dominated this one. Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Luol Deng added 21 points and eight rebounds of his own. C.J. Watson played well again in place of Derrick Rose scoring 15 points. As usual, the Bulls played solid team basketball, sharing the ball throughout the night. This was exactly the type of game Tom Thibodeau expected from his team without Rose.
What it means: Not that everyone didn't already know this, but the Bulls can beat many teams in the league without Derrick Rose. Given the way the Bulls have played in the past two games without Rose, and given how bad most of the teams are on the schedule over the next week (aside from the Indiana Pacers), there is no reason why Rose should come back until his toe feels significantly better. The Bulls should be just fine without him.
Stat of the night: The Bulls' 16 blocks as a team set a franchise record.
