How it happened: Playing with a bad toe, Derrick Rose still managed to score 25 points, dish out seven assists and pull down four rebounds as the Bulls won their fourth game in five nights. Luol Deng had another solid night, scoring 21 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer finished the game on the floor together and combined for 22 points and 20 rebounds. Given how up-and-down the Bulls' play has been at times over the past week, coach Tom Thibodeau has to be very happy with this win.
What it means: If the mark of a good team is continually finding ways to win when things aren't going your way, then the Bulls are on the right track this season. They almost gave back a 20-point lead and yet again managed to pull away at the end. Rose will get plenty of recognition, and deservedly so, but Deng deserves a lot of credit. He was very tired at the end of the game, but he still managed to do all the things Thibodeau needed him to do to pick up a win. The better sign for the Bulls on this night was that Noah and Boozer both played well.
