NOTE-A-BULLS

[*]Chicago’s 7-2 record is its best start since 1996-97 when the Bulls began the year 12-0.

[*]Over the last two games, Kyle Korver is shooting .667 from beyond the arc and has connected on eight treys (8-12 3FG). In his first seven games Korver shot .409 from downtown (9-21 3FG).

[*]On Friday (01/06) at Orlando (01/06), Carlos Boozer registered 20 points and 13 boards and Derrick Rose chipped in with 21 points and 10 assists in Chicago’s win over the Magic. It is the fourth time since Dec. 25, 2010, that Boozer and Rose have each recorded a double-double with 20-or-more points in the same game. Only three other pair of teammates has done that as many times as Boozer and Rose over that span: Miami’s James and Bosh (five), OKC’s Durant and Westbrook (four) and GS’s Ellis and Lee (four; Elias Sports Bureau).
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."

Bulls 92 Pistons 68

Very good game from Boozer as he was effective with 23 pts and 8 reb in 26 minutes.

Nick Friedell's rapid reaction

What it means: The Bulls didn't play the way coach Tom Thibodeau wants them to in the first half, but they found a way to win by locking up the Pistons in the final 24 minutes. Boozer had probably his best game of the year, giving the Bulls an offensive jolt when they needed it most. The only real concerns on this night for the Bulls were that Luol Deng looks exhausted and Joakim Noah is not looking for offense. Thibodeau is going to have to find a way to get Deng some rest and get Noah into some kind of offensive rhythm.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."
