Recap

By KC Johnson (Chicago Tribune)

Derrick Rose's 27 points and a huge 3-pointer from Kirk Hinrich late helped the Bulls positively open a three-game homestand. However, their deficit for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth remained at 2 1/2 games when the Raptors downed the Timberwolves.

"That is a little upsetting," Rose said. "But we're going to keep it going. We're on a roll and we're going to keep fighting."

The Bulls led 85-74 before the Rockets ripped off a 10-2 run capped by Aaron Brooks' 3-pointer with 1 minute, 41 seconds left to make palms sweaty.

But Rose, who had 11 points in the fourth and also helped harass Brooks into 3-for-17 shooting, calmly buried a jumper. After Luis Scola sank two free throws, Hinrich swished his fourth 3-pointer without a miss with 56.2 seconds left.

"When you lose 10 in a row like we did, morale can go down and a give-up attitude can result," Joakim Noah said. "I don't think we've had that at all. We've played hard every night."

2 1/2 games behind Raptors and Bobcats. Playoffs are still a possibility. Bulls will play 2 against Bobcats and 1 game against the Raptors.

Go Bulls!
