Tonight it will be important that Hinrich will have a good day. Especially defensive against Wade.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."

Good win for Bulls. Thomas was suspended for this game so Richard comes in for 20 minutes and 7 rebounds with 2 blocks. Not so bad.

Deng 25 points, Rose 24 points.

Game Recap

By KC Johnson (Chicago Tribune)

On a night Joakim Noah again sat injured and Tyrus Thomas didn't enter the building because of a team suspension, the Bulls snapped their three-game skid behind Luol Deng's 25 points and 24 from Rose.

The Bulls led 85-83 when Rose took over. First, he sank two free throws with 2 minutes, 21 seconds left.

Kirk Hinrich, who along with John Salmons and aggressive trapping helped prevent Dwyane Wade from going off, then suckered Rafer Alston into an illegal screen and Rose's crossover dribble led to a layup with 1:21 left.

Jermaine O'Neal, who had 24 points and 16 rebounds, made 3 of 4 free throws around a Brad Miller missed 3-pointer to cut the deficit to three. But Rose beat the defense again to feed Deng, who made two free throws with 35 seconds left.

"We spaced it out and tried to open the middle and Derrick attacked," coach Vinny Del Negro said.

There were other, subtler contributions like Miller's five steals, Salmons' 15 points and five assists, and seven rebounds in 20 minutes from D-League signee Chris Richard.

"He gave us some really good minutes," Del Negro said. "He was physical."
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."
