With three overtime games in the books through the first five games of this series, this is the first time in Bulls playoff history (57 playoff series) that there have been multiple overtime games in a single series. It is also the first playoff series in NBA history that has had three overtime games.

With 11 assists in Game 1, Derrick Rose became the fourth rookie in NBA playoff history to record 10 or more assists in a game. He joins Magic Johnson (16 in 1980, Andrew Toney (11 in 1981) and Frank Johnson (11 in 1982).

Bulls point guard Derrick Rose finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in Game 4. He was one assist shy of joining Scottie Pippen (four times) and Michael Jordan (two times) as the only Bulls to have recorded a triple-double in the postseason.
