Tonight we will see if the Bulls continue their upward trend with a good game against the Hawks.
It would be good to see a competitive game from the Bulls.

Very nice surprise from Bulls. A win against the Hawks snapped their 6 game winning streak.

That is, until Saturday night, when they rallied from a nine-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation en route to a 101-98 overtime victory against the Atlanta Hawks at the United Center.

Thomas could be ready to go on Saturday

For much of the game, it appeared the Bulls -- who now have won back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 14 and Nov. 17 -- would suffer another close loss mainly because they lacked a go-to guy against a team with one of the best in the league.

But then point guard Derrick Rose stepped up to score 24 of his career regular-season-high 32 points in the second half and overtime as the Bulls (10-15) overcame a 40-point effort by Atlanta's Joe Johnson.

''He's going to be a good player in this league,'' Johnson said of Rose. ''He has to keep working and stay focused, but he has all the tools to be a good point guard.''

The Hawks (19-7) were playing for a second straight night, but they brought a six-game winning streak into the game and had posted a 35-point victory over the Bulls just a week and a half ago.

''I'm just happy with the win,'' said Rose, who was 14-for-24 from the field. ''I don't really care about my stats. I just want to win. I guess I did what I'm supposed to do out there tonight, and we were able to win the game.''

The Bulls, who dropped 11 of 13 before putting together two straight victories, last had a quality win on Nov. 5 at Cleveland.
Rose: "I want to be that guy. I want to be the reason why the Bulls are back to what they were [during the Michael Jordan era]."
