Garnett to Chicago?

Garnett to Chicago?

Postby MaSSaCrE on Wed Nov 29, 2006 7:21 pm

The rumors of a Kevin Garnett-to-Chicago trade are resurfacing again, and for good reason. The Bulls have multiple first-round picks, expendable young players, expiring contracts, and a hole at power forward. The T-Wolves have KG and the perpetual need to go a new direction, which could in turn free Garnett from the shackles of mediocrity. Either way, something is bound to happen in Chicago – the team's preseason expectations, particularly after adding Wallace, won't allow them to continue along their current course.

I think that it depends what players are needed to get KG. Imo don't give them a duo like Gordon and Deng. That would be stupid.

But I guess there will be no trade to get KG.

^ why? you're talking about KG here. this would be our team:

Hinrich/Duhon/Barrett
Griffin/Sefolosha
Nocioni/Khryapa
Garnett/Thomas/Sweetney
Wallace/Brown/Allen

still deep. still defensive oriented. BUT, now they have a low post scorer and rebounder/shot blocker. they'd certainly be the favorites out east. I'd give up Gordon in a second. Deng sucks to lose. some others would have to go to match contracts. I think Gordon and Deng are still on their rookie contracts.

i say give it more time until you offer a deal like that. the bulls could get by with the rotation they have now, posting up sweets here and there, throwing tyrus thomas in the mix, PJ brown, allen etc...they just need to make more of a concious effort to do it. i really like the team and the way they're playing right now, they're finally starting to gel and the defense seems like it may be steadily improving. i really think between tyrus (also a good passer) and sweets, the bulls could get some post scoring and shouldn't give up valuable, valuable players in gordon and deng. with the pick next year, PJ's contract expiring, and i believe sweets contract is done with also, they could go after a FA if they need to, or come away with something on draft day. i'd love to have garnett as much as the next person, but not at the expense of valuable core guys who are still improving and in the early stages of their career. keep this team together, give them time. i honestly wouldn't have a problem if the bulls made no moves, resigned deng, noc, and gordon and just waited for tyrus to evolve which i don't think will take too long.

If I was Paxson I would wait to do this, because I am like Tyrus so far. Deng I couldn't bear to lose personally.

But if Tyrus isn't included, it could be a possibility.

I wouldnt trade Deng either, but I'd have no problem trading Tyrus. we're talking about KG here. Tyrus might end up a solid player but do you think he's going to be a top 5 all-time PF like KG? I doubt it.
