Just a tip. I bought one of the new (old) composite balls for Christmas. It was purchased and shipped days before Stern announced the Jan. 1 "leather" date. I called Spalding today to return it and they informed me the new (old) leather ball won't be marketed or sold because they will return to an improved version of the two-panel composite ball for 2007-08. Break the story. --David, Arlington Heights, Ill.
This makes it a co-byline. I figured the NBA wasn't going easy on this.
Found this at the Ask Sam Smith article. Don't know that this is true, but I think that make sense. So I think they will introduce the new "new" ball at the summer games.
